Zero-dimensional RFB models
Using a simplified representation of redox flow batteries, zero-dimensional models enable rapid simulation of cycling performance while capturing the key physics associated with chemical, electrochemical, and transport processes. Recently, we demonstrated closed-form approximations to these models, allowing simulations to be readily conducted using spreadsheet software. Below, you can find simulation packages for full cell cycling and symmetric cell cycling in Microsoft Excel.
Given the accessibility of this toolkit, we believe it has potential to be a widely deployable tool for RFB research, aiding in data interpretation, performance prediction, and electrochemistry education!

Full cell cycling (Version 1.0)
This model is intended for use in full cell cycling, featuring different active species on either side of the battery.
Symmetric cell cycling (Version 1.0)
This model is intended for use in symmetric cell cycling, featuring the same active species on each side of the cell.
